Remembering the dharnas

Newspost

November 22, 2019

While I agree with the main contention of Muhammad Waqar Rana’s article, 'The right to protest' (Nov 21, 2019). The article criticises the 'Azadi March'. Hpwever, other than some inconvenience to travelers during their Plan-B, the overall protest had been very peaceful and caused no damage to public institutions and property. We must appreciate the good as well.

The article did not talk about the previous dharnas, which were bloody and had caused significant damage to institutions like PTV. Pakistan lost billions during the 126-day dharna and badly affected the Chinese president’s trip.
