LAHORE
PUNJAB Education Foundation (PEF) Chairman Engr. Raja Qamar-ul-Islam has recommended forced leave/suspension from service for the foundation’s Deputy Managing Director (Finance) for his alleged illegal appointment.
Engr. Qamar-ul-Islam made these recommendations on preliminary inquiry, conducted by him, following a complaint against DMD (Finance) Salman Anwer Malik on July 30, 2015.
According to the August 13, 2015 inquiry report, a copy available with The News, Salman Anwer Malik’s name was not even included in the list of 17 candidates shortlisted for the interviews. It reads 147 applications were received for the post of DMD (Finance) by closing date i.e., 26 October, 2009. “Prima facie, it appears that gross irregularities have been committed in the recruitment process and a candidate, who did not apply by the closing date and consequently was not shortlisted, had been selected”, reads the report. It also revealed that total number of candidates was tampered from 147 to 148 and shortlisted candidates from 17 to 18 “with pen”. PEF chairman recommended placing DMD (Finance) under suspension or sending him on forced/obligatory leave noticing that otherwise inquiry proceedings could be influenced as Salman Anwer Malik is also holding the charge of DMD (Operations).
resources: The Punjab government is utilising all-out resources to eradicate ignorance and poverty at the grassroots level and ample funds have been provided for composite development. Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Chairman Engr. Qamar-ul-Islam Raja said this in his keynote address while addressing a seminar “Professional Success: Tips and Tricks” at Library and Information Science Department of Punjab University on Tuesday. Qamar-ul-Islam Raja further said the policies aimed to help improve quality of life through education promotion as well as creating better opportunities for the educated youth.
