Seminar on smog
LAHORE:Virtual University’s Department of Molecular Biology has organised a seminar on smog to create awareness among people about its harmful effects.
Rector Virtual University Naeem Tariq, Dean Faculty of Science and Technology Dr Masroor Elahi Babar, faculty members and a large number of students attended the event. Speakers said industrial revolution, smoke from brick kilns, burning of crops, as well as solid waste and smoke produced by vehicles were causes of producing smog. Naeem Tariq said poor and developing countries do not have enough resources and technology to fight global warming, therefore, all the stakeholders should prepare and come up with long term strategy/policy to overcome these challenges. Dr Masroor Elahi Babar urged every individual to play his or her role in controlling smog.
