Citizen shoots suspected robber dead in Clifton

A suspected robber was shot and killed by a citizen while the former was allegedly trying to loot him in the upscale Clifton neighbourhood on Tuesday evening.

Police said that the incident took place in Block 5 within the limits of the Clifton police station. The body of the robber was taken to Jinnah postgraduate Medical Centre where he was identified as Sanaullah, son of Matin.

Police said the incident took place when the suspect along with his companion was trying to loot Haseeb outside a restaurant. Haseeb in his initial statement told police that he along with his mother was sitting in his car when one of the robbers came close to him and attempted to loot him at gunpoint. At this, he shot and killed him in self-defence. The suspect was a resident of Gulshan-e-Sikandarabad. Police are investigating the incident.
