Recently, I came to know about the Khyber Pakhunkhwa School Bags Act, 2019. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department has moved a commendable bill, according to which the weight of school bags of elementary and secondary level students should be reduced, suggesting that each bag should weigh 15 percent of the child's weight.
This is a very good step by the KP education department. Let's hope this bill soon converts into a law. I request the education ministries of other provinces as well to take notice of this very serious issue and lighten the weight off children's backs.
