PESHAWAR: A nurse working at the Hayatabad Medical Complex on Saturday accused the hospital’s deputy medical superintendent (DMS) of sexual harassment.
Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, the nurse Aleema Ghani accused DMS Dr Razzaq of making indecent demand from her.
“When I refused to fulfill his demand, the DMS expelled me from the hostel and also registered a first information report (FIR) with the police against me,” she claimed.
Relating her story to journalists, the nurse alleged that one day the DMS called her to his office and wanted to target her to satiate his lust. “On my refusal, he resorted to revengeful tactics against me,” she maintained.
Aleema Ghani said the matter had been reported to the director general health but he also sided with the DMS.
Complaining that she was facing persecution, she requested Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and high-ups of the health department to take note of the matter and provide her justice.
