PESHAWAR: The Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) arranged funeral in absentia for the Afghan Taliban supreme leader Mulla Mohammad Omar here on Friday.
Led by local leader of the organisation Ghazi Inamullah, a good number of male and female members of the organisation attended the “Ghaibana Nimaz-i-Janaza.After the reports of Mulla Omar’s death were made public and confirmed by the Afghan Taliban movement, the JuD arranged his funerals in absentia in various cities.
JuD head Hafiz Mohammad Saeed led similar prayers in Lahore the other day for the former ruler of Afghanistan and the key leader of resistance forces in the war-torn country.After the funeral prayers, the JuD leaders also spoke to the participants and paid glowing tributes to Mulla Omar. They were of the opinion that Mulla Omar was an asset to the Muslim world and was the true leader of the mujahideen and martyrs of Islam. They said that it was due to the long struggle under him that the US was facing a humiliating defeat in Afghanistan.
