Pakistan, China committed to completion of CPEC, says Mamnoon
Urges for increasing mutual trade between Pakistan, Spain

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said that Pakistan and China are committed to timely completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project and no hurdle would be tolerated in this regard.
Talking to former Chinese Consul General in Islamabad, the president underlined the need for constant contact between the people and institutions of the two countries for the purpose.Later, the president stressed the need for making greater efforts to enhance bilateral trade between Pakistan and Spain through frequent exchange of trade delegations.
Talking to the outgoing Ambassador of Spain Javier Carbajosa Sanchez in Islamabad, he said that Pakistan has investor friendly policies and urged Spanish companies to invest in Pakistan in various sectors including energy, education, agriculture and infrastructure. He emphasised the importance Pakistan attaches to its relations with Spain both bilaterally and as a European Union member. He called for more people-to-people contacts and exchange of delegations in trade, education and culture in order to further strengthen bilateral relations and develop more understanding between the people of two countries.
The president highlighted that over 70,000 strong Pakistanis living in Spain act as a living bridge between the two nations thereby further augmenting bilateral relations. He expressed confidence that Pakistan’s relations with Spain would grow further in future to the mutual benefit of both countries.
The outgoing Spanish ambassador appreciated that Pakistan has one of the most investor friendly policies in the region and hoped that Spanish companies would take advantage of it and invest in different sectors of the country. He also informed that his government has decided to reopen the commercial office in the Spanish Embassy in Islamabad that will help to further enhance trade between the two countries.
