Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) with the collaboration of National Highway & Motorway Police (NHMP) will offer three-month duration Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) driving course starting from next month.
An agreement was signed between Tevta and NHMP here Thursday according to which the course would be introduced for unemployed youth from next month at 35 Road Safety Training Institutes (RSTIs) of NHMP across Punjab.
Chairperson Tevta Irfan Qaiser Shaikh, IG NH&MP Muhammad Saleem Bhatti, DIG Central Zone Mirza Faran Baig, Deputy Commandant Training College Sheikhupura Athar Waheed, General Managers Tevta Hamid Ghani Anjum, Abdul Qayyum, Engr Azhar Iqbal Shad, Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, Manager Sarfraz Anwar and other officers were also present on the occasion.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said curricular for LTV driving course developed by Tevta would be adopted for training, adding that the trainees would be provided Rs1,000 stipend per month. Age limit for the admission will be minimum 18 and maximum 35 years. Middle pass candidates will be eligible; however, matriculates will be given preference for admission. Certificate shall be jointly issued by Tevta and National Highway & Motorway Police (NH&MP) bearing logos of both parties. Tevta will also provide full assistance to pass-outs to get job opportunities in different sectors. Saleem Bhatti said NHMP would be responsible for the provision of training and learning materials including books/manuals to trainees during their training.
