PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan Friday said that an effective service delivery system should be implemented for a successful education system in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).
Chairing a meeting with the members of Sir Michael Barber’s team comprising Haroon Sethi and Taimoor Khan, he said that schools and colleges in Fata were not functioning properly and stressed the need to run the educational institutes efficiently.
Additional Chief Secretary Fata Muhammad Aslam Kamboh was also present at the meeting. A detailed presentation was given to governor on “Road map for social sector in Fata,” said a handout. The governor advised the team to identify weaknesses in the educational system by comparing it with the developed countries.
“Rationalise the appointment of people in sectors like health and education and set targets for rationalisation,” he added.“Three-pronged strategy should be adopted that are unit design delivery services for Fata, priority agenda and data collection system, so that such systems should be introduced which can function properly,” he maintained.
