Delay in announcing result irks students

HARIPUR: The future of at least 50 students is at stake as the University of Haripur has refused to announce the results of Post Magistral Diploma in Clinical Psychology (PMDCP) even after six months.
The Department of Psychology, University of Haripur, launched one year Post-Magistral Diploma in Clinical Psychology (PMDCP) in 2012 and enrolled over 20 students. The University of Haripur has yet to announce the results and award diplomas to the students of the first batch.
Each student deposited registration, examination and tuition fees amounting to Rs35,000. The students successfully completed credit hours and took examinations.“Our viva voce was held on December 5, 2014 and as per rules the administration was supposed to announce result within one month,” said a girl student.
She added that she had applied for a job on the basis of PMDCP and has chances of getting it, but the university administration had put her future at stake. The student said they had been told to get registered afresh and take two extra papers including the viva as the previous syllabus didn’t fulfill the requirement for diploma.
Another student said that if the university administration was incapable of designing syllabus for the diploma course it was its fault and the students should not be punished.She said most of the students of first batch had started working and they couldn’t afford to re-appear for two papers. She threatened to move the court against university administration.Several attempts were made to contact Head of Department Dr Tariq Khan for comments, but he was not available.
