Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Chairman Engr. Qamar-ul-Islam Raja has said the Foundation has planned to benefit from the database of Nadra to verify antecedents of parents/guardians of students in the private schools partnering with different free educational programmes of PEF.
Addressing the school partners’ meeting at Alhamra Cultural Complex, Qaddafi Stadium, on Thursday, he further said this would help to maintain consummate transparency and credibility of PEF sponsored free educational programmes for the needy kids.
The school partners from different districts as well as concerned PEF officials also attended the meeting.
Engr. Qamar-ul-Islam further said the public-private partnership based Foundation Assisted School programme was a flagship initiative which had helped the needy students to access their fundamental right to education.
He also announced exploiting the platform of Directorate of Staff Development (DSD) for the capacity building training of the partner schools’ teachers on modern lines. Similarly, financial support to the needy partners through some development financial institutions was also being contemplated so as to strengthen them.
Meanwhile, a two-day training workshop arranged by PEF for the capacity building of principals of low-cost partner schools concluded on Thursday. On the occasion, participants were sensitised about the pilot project of inclusive education and handling of physically-challenged students in the partnering schools.
