MINGORA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) provincial president Amir Muqam on Sunday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had

damaged the country’s economy.

Talking to reporters here, he said a PTI leader recently advised the people to eat one roti (loaf of bread) instead of two in a bid to help the government to overcome the financial crisis.

“It shows the calibre of the PTI public representatives,” he sneered, adding it seemed the government had no programme for the uplift of the masses.

He said Pakistan was on the brink of going bankrupt while the prime minister and his cabinet members were busy using abusive language against the opposition.

Amir Muqam said Imran Khan made unrealistic promises during the election campaign while standing on a container to address public gatherings.

“Imran Khan in his bid to reach the corridors of power set impractical targets which his government cannot achieve now,” he added.

Amir Muqam said there was a marked difference between the words and deeds of the PTI rulers as they have been unable to provide relief to the poor.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader said the nine-month rule had exposed the PTI rulers, who lacked the ability to steer the country out of the prevailing morass. “The people have become disenchanted with the government,” he pointed out.
