Two prisoners die in Adiala Jail

RAWALPINDI: Two prisoners were found dead in the Adiala Jail under mysterious circumstances on Saturday morning.
According to sources, the inmates, who have been identified as Basharat and Abbas, were serving sentence after being convicted in a drugs case. The bodies of the two were found in the barracks, the sources said, adding that the condition of both the inmates deteriorated last night but the jail administration did not shift them to hospital for treatment.
The sources said prisoners are not treated at a hospital inside the prison as it has no adequate facilities. The prison authorities said the bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their families upon completion of legal formalities.
