Call for allocation of funds for FEC construction
FAISALABAD. Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) president Syed Zia Alumdar Hussain Wednesday stressed the need of serious efforts for the allocation of necessary funds in next federal budget for the fast track construction of Faisalabad Expo Centre (FEC).
Addressing a special meeting of the FCCI Standing Committee on Faisalabad Expo Centre that was also attended by its chairman Mian Javaid Iqbal, Engineer Ihtesham Javaid and Dr. Khurram Tariq, the FCCI president said during his meetings with Abdur Razzaq Dawood, Advisor to Prime Minister on Industry, Commerce & Investment and Mian Aslam Iqbal Provincial
Minister, he mentioned 70 kanal of land for proposed Faisalabad Expo Centre in M-3 Industrial City. He said Razzaq Dawood had directed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Expo Private Limited Company (EPLC) to complete the initial formalities so that the FCCI could organize next “Made in Faisalabad” exhibition in Faisalabad Expo Centre.
He said the departments concerned had been directed to include this project in Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) of 2019-20. Syed Zia said now it was our duty to take appropriate follow up measures to ensure speedy implementation on this mega project of international importance.
Mian Javaid Iqbal, Chairman Standing Committee on Expo Centre, said we must make the proposed Faisalabad Expo Centre as an iconic identification of this export city. He requested Vice President Engineer Ihtesham Javaid to remain in touch with the CEO of (EPLC) and invite him to visit Faisalabad for an extensive briefing of this proposed project.
The standing body also reviewed feasibility report, planning, expansion and any amendment in this proposed plan in addition to the availability of funds which should be inconformity with the well defined government parameters. He further said that the FCCI should remain in touch with EPLC during the preliminary planning, its approval implementation and operation of this expo centre in a planned and systematic way.
He said the CEO of the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development & Management Company (FIEDMC) should also be invited during an the expected visit of CEO of EPLC so that he could also give his necessary input for the fast track completion of this project.
