Islamabad: The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) on Wednesday closed its Islamabad Campus for security reasons.
The campus will now open on June 15 (Monday).
The development comes a day after an armed clash between two ethnic student groups on the campus left around 12 students injured.
As the injured were treated at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and the Federal Government Polyclinic, police arrested 40 students from the university hostels over the clash.
Amid claims of the campus head, Professor Salman Mohammad, that investigation is underway into the Tuesday clash, the university announced closure of the campus for the next four days and said administrative and academic activities on the premises would resume on June 15. It said extra guards had been deployed in and around the campus to maintain law and order.
