PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Senator Sirajul Haq has said there is no need for a strike and protest over alleged rigging in local government polls.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said the opposition parties and government should settle the issue through talks. He added that re-polling should be held in areas where people have reservations over the process.
JI has also announced protest over alleged rigging in polls but the leadership later postponed it. The JI provincial amir Professor Ibrahim who was critical of the government for its alleged involvement in rigging, attended the so-called all parties conference convened by the KP government over the issue of LG polls.
