LHC forwards suspended DSPs’ matter to IG

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court forwarded the matter of suspension of 36 DSPs of Punjab Police to Inspector General of Police Amjad Javed Saleemi by converting their application into representation.

Now the matter will be seen by the IG, Punjab, according to the directions of the court. Furthermore, the court also asked the applicants that if they did not get satisfied with the decision of the IG at any level, they might move the relevant forum of Services Tribunal.

The LHC didn't pass any stay order on the suspension orders of the 36 DSPs. The DSPs were suspended in the light of reports given be their respective unit heads and now inquiry into the charges levelled against them is being carried out. The DSPs will be given full opportunity for proving their innocence during the inquiry.
