According to environmental experts, forests should cover at least 25 percent of the total area of a country to sustain an ecological balance. However, in Pakistan only 4.4 percent of the total area remains covered with forests.
A majority of the areas of the country are without gas facilities and people have no other options but to chop off the trees for use as fuel. The incessant cutting of forests has an impact on climate change. Despite the ‘Green and Clean Pakistan’ campaign, no solid measures seem to have been taken for forest preservation.
