Levies man gunned down in Dir

DIR: A member of the Levies force was gunned down in Chomra area of Upper Dir district, police said on Saturday.

They said that a Levies man identified as Nasibzada was going home after performing duty late at night when unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on him.

He sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The police said the motive behind the killing could not be known.

Upper Dir Deputy Commissioner Irfanullah Mahsud went to his home for condolences. Later, he was laid to rest at his native graveyard.
