Pakistan Day marked with enthusiasm across KP

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Day was marked with fervour and enthusiasm across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.

In the provincial capital, the Capital City Police carried out a flag march in the city in connection with Pakistan Day.

Armoured personnel carriers, the bomb disposal unit and vehicles of regular police and city patrolling force took part in the flag march that started from the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines and returned after marching through different bazaars and roads of Peshawar.

Capital City Police Officer Qazi Jamilur Rehman, SSP Operations Zahoor Babar Afridi and a number of SPs and other officers participated in the flag march.

The CCPO, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the importance of Pakistan Day. He also highlighted the sacrifices of the armed force, police and other law enforcement agencies for the country and its people.

Nowshera: Various functions were held in the district to mark the day.

The flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Government Postgraduate College. Deputy Commissioner Abdul Hamid Khan and DPO Mansoor Aman attended the ceremony. Achievement awards were also distributed among people on the occasion.

Timergra: A functions were held in all parts of Lower Dir to mark the Pakistan Day with fervour and enthusiasm.

A flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the office of the deputy commissioner Lower Dir.

District Nazim Muhammad Rasool Khan, Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, District Police Officer (DPO) Arif Shahbaz Wazir, officials of the civil administration and a large number of locals were present on the occasion.

Martyrs of Army Public School were remembered in a ceremony held at the Frontier Corps (FC) Public School and College Timergara where Commandant Dir Task Force (DTF) Col Shehzad Amir was the chief guest.

Principal Muhammad Farooq, students and parents were present on the occasion.

Lakki Marwat: The day was celebrated in the district with zeal and enthusiasm.

In this connection, the district government and local administration with the support of Boy Scouts Association and education and sports departments organised a function at the district headquarters complex Tajazai. A large number of people attended the event.

Deputy Commissioner Jehangir Azam Wazir was the chief guest. District Nazim Iqbal Hussain, Naib Nazim Arab Khan, SP investigation Shafiq Wazir and local bodies members and area elders also attended the event.

Students and boy scouts of the public sector and private schools sang national songs and highlighted the importance of the day in their speeches. They also received great applause from participants by presenting tableaus and traditional dance of all the provinces. Also, the activists of Tehrik Labbaik Pakistan took out a rally in Lakki city to mark the day.

Karak: Member National Assembly Shahid Khattak and Deputy Commissioner Abidullah Kakakhel hoisted the flag at Government High School Mithakhel to mark Pakistan Day.

Addressing the ceremony, the lawmaker and deputy commissioner Karak said that Pakistan had been created after a long struggle and sacrifices of their forefathers.

Mardan: The traffic police held a flag march in the city in connection with Pakistan Day. Started from the Pakistan Chowk, the march culminated at the Bacha Khan Chowk.

DSP headquarters Mohammad Shakeel Khan and Traffic In-charge Amjad Khan led the march.

Meanwhile, District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Sajjad Khan urged the teachers and parents to promote patriotism among children.

He was addressing as chief guest at a function in connection with the Pakistan Day at a private school.

Dera Ismail Khan: The day was celebrated with national zeal at Lieutenant Atif Qayyum Shaheed Park. Dera Commissioner Javed Marwat, Station Commander Rao Imran, Regional Police Officer Feroz Shah, other officials, notables and a large number of people attended the function.

Ghallanai: A colourful function was held in connection with the March 23 at Captain Roohullah Shaheed Sports Stadium here. Separate rallies, led by security forces officials, public representatives and elders, were also taken out to mark the day.

Bannu: The Bannu Police, FC and district administration arranged functions and rallies on Pakistan Day on Saturday. Flag hoisting ceremony was held at Police Lines, which was attended by Bannu division Commissioner Adil Saddique, Deputy Inspector General Abdullah Khan, Member Provincial Assembly Malik Shah Muhammad Khan and others.

Mingora: The army arranged a function on the Matta College ground to celebrate March 23. A spectacular cricket match between the teams of Matta Press Club and army was also organised.

The press club team won the match and received trophies and prizes from the officials of security forces.
