‘We know India’s intentions’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board Managing Director Wasim Khan believes that when it comes to harboring terrorists, India’s role in Sri Lanka is very much there for everyone to see.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India wrote a letter to International Cricket Council, saying countries harbouring terrorists should be removed.

“My question is what was India’s role in Sri Lanka from 1983 to 1998? The country doing terrorism in Sri Lanka and India’s role in connection with LTTE. Even today they are busy repeating that. What is happening in Afghanistan? We haven’t written to ICC to remove India from the ICC. We have written a strong letter to ICC on Indian’s letter that has no proof. We know well what India’s agenda is. Ehsan Mani and I are already on it and know India’s intentions,” Wasim said.

He said India was no one to dictate the world whom to play and whom not to play. “One thing is certain we will not play India now. So if there is no bilateral series between the two countries, India is no one to control other boards. Like the Indian government, the Indian board is also making claims without any proof. We cannot be pulled by any country. What India or BCCI is doing is not good for sports and cricket.”

On luring international teams to visit Pakistan in wake of a successful Pakistan Super League, Wasim said negotiations with Sri Lanka were on. “We are to play Sri Lanka next at home and are trying to make them understand that the country now is safe to play cricket as we have proved by hosting PSL matches. We are also in touch with Bangladesh to send their national teams,” Wasim said.
