Clean and green drive continues

LAHORE : Lahore District Administration continued its ‘Clean and Green Drive’ on fourth day in.

Thursday’s first ceremony was held in Khud Pura village of tehsil Raiwind where Raiwind Assistant Commissioner Shahid Mehboob organised an awareness campaign. Lahore DC Saleha Saeed participated as the chief guest while MPAs including Hanif Patafi, Nadeem Bara and a number of local figures and students also attended.

The DC Lahore along with parliamentarians planted saplings on 87 Kanals of state land retrieved in anti-encroachment operations. In village Khud Pura the district administration has introduced block plantation.

The DC Lahore said it was good to see that people belonging to all walks of life were taking interest in plantation and cleanliness drive initiated by the government. She said today children have planted more than 250 saplings in block plantation in Khud Pura while as many as 2,500 saplings would be planted in coming days. Yet in another campaign was organised by the AC Cantt at Main Mir Graveyard where entire cleanliness of the graveyard was carried out. The schools children participated in this activity and took out awareness walk outside the graveyard. In tehsil Shalimar, AC Shalimar Abdul Razzaq Dogar held an activity under clean and green drive in Jallo Park where as many as 2,500 saplings had been planted on two acres of empty land.
