Ehsan Danish’s anniversary today

LAHORE : The 37th death anniversary of noted poet Ehsan Danish will be observed on Friday (today).

Ehsan Danish was a self-made and self-taught person who became from a labourer to a poet-laureate. He wrote 80 books of poetry, prose, linguistics, lexicology and prosody. His autobiography named Jahan e Danish provides great emotional yet realistic picture of his struggle. History gives only a few examples of such men of letters who rose to the highest peak in language and literature due to personal effort and endurance. It is needed that the government of Pakistan publish all his books for the benefit of the public and coming generations of the country.
