CM for checking food quality of hotels on motorways

LAHORE : Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said checking of eatables sold at hotels and restaurants on motorways and highways will be conducted and quality of food of different hotels of Murree and other tourist spots will also be checked.

The CM directed Punjab Food Authority DG to initiate action against hotels and restaurants providing substandard meals to the tourists and passengers. Such elements do not deserve any leniency, he added. The CM directed Punjab Food Authority DG Muhammad Usman for devising a comprehensive strategy for eliminating milk-adulteration and enforcement of pasteurization law. He said pasteurisation law will bring prosperity for small-scale animal breeders by fetching good rates of milk. In fact, hospitals’ rush can be reduced by ensuring the provision of healthy food, the CM said and added no pressure should be tolerated in the interest of the public because there is no room for adulteration in the new Pakistan. He directed that other provinces be given complete support with regard to food safety matters and elimination of adulteration.

saplings: Usman Buzdar on Thursday planted saplings and prayed for the success of trees plantation campaign along with school children during Clean & Green Pakistan campaign on World Forest Day at Changa Manga Forest Park.

Talking to the media, the chief minister said that eight lakh saplings of different kinds have been planted in the province in connection with World Forest Day. During the current spring season, around 150 million saplings will be planted to overcome smog and environmental pollution. In line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan will be made a neat and clean country. He said that 200 acres of land of Changa Manga forest has been recovered during the campaign against encroachments and trees will be planted on forest lands recovered from influential squatters.

Replying to a question, the chief minister said the bill of increasing salaries of assembly members is being reviewed by analysing its legal and technical aspects to keep in view the economic conditions of the country. Necessary amendments are being made to the salary bill of assembly members and when the decision will be made; the same will be made public. He said that the performance of provincial ministers and bureaucracy is being monitored to ensure good governance and provincial ministers are also being consulted to improve the performance of the departments.

Federal Adviser Malik Amin Aslam, Minister for Forests Muhammad Sibtain Khan, Minister for Population Welfare Hashim Dogar, Member National Assembly Talib Nakai, Spokesman to CM Shahbaz Gill, elected representatives, Commissioner Lahore and others were present on the occasion.
