FBR extends 2018 tax returns filing date till 31st

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue has extended the date of filing of Income Tax Returns/Statements for the Tax Year 2018 till March 31, 2019. This extension into filing of tax returns will resolve difficulties of almost 250,000 who had filed their income tax returns after the due date and their names were excluded from Active Taxpayer List (ATL)

“All those who will file their income tax returns till March 31, 2019 their names will be inserted into ATL,” FBR’s Member Inland Revenue Service(IRS) Policy and spokesman Hamid Ateeq Sarwar confirmed to The News here on Friday.

The FBR’s announcement stated that they extended the date of filing of returns of total income and statement of final taxation for companies, individuals and Association of Persons for the Tax Year 2018.

According to the circular number 2 of 2019 issued by the FBR here on Friday, the date of filing of returns of total income and statement of final taxation, which was due on August 31, 2018 and extended up to December 15, 2018, is hereby further extended up to March 31, 2019.

The date of filing of returns of total income and statements of final taxation for companies, individuals and Association of Persons which were due on September 30, 2018 and extended up to December 15, 2018 is hereby further extended up to March 31, 2019.

Moreover, the date of filing of Returns of Total Income and Statements of final taxation for companies which were due on December 31, 2018 is hereby further extended up to March 31, 2019, FBR added.
