Fire destroys scrap warehouse in Shershah

A fire broke out in a warehouse in the Shershah scrap market on Thursday. Reacting to the information, the fire brigade dispatched two fire tenders to the site; however, they were unable to douse the blaze. According to a spokesperson for the fire brigade, more fire tenders were later dispatched to the scene on account of the severe intensity of the fire. It took hectic efforts of at least 12 hours to control the blaze. No loss of life was reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Another fire

A fire in a cardboard warehouse in Korangi 100-Quarters reduced a large quantity of cardboard and plastic to ashes. The fire brigade spokesperson said that initially, two fire tenders were rushed to the scene, but as the fire continued to spread, two more tenders were sent to extinguish the blaze. It took four hours for the firefighters to douse the fire.

No loss of life was reported in the incident. It could not be immediately ascertained what caused the fire. The spokesman said that the firefighters faced difficulties in the fire-fighting operation due to the congested and narrow lanes and a shortage of water.
