7 killed, 890 injured in 791 road accidents
LAHORE: At least seven people were killed and 890 others sustained injuries in 791 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
As many as 499 seriously injured were shifted to various hospitals by the Rescue-1122 teams while some 391 with minor injuries were provided first aid on-the-spot.
The statistics showed that 347 drivers, 29 juvenile drivers, 410 passengers and 140 pedestrians were among the victims of the accidents.
About 204 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 212 persons, placing the provincial capital on top of the list, followed by 68 accidents in Gujranwala with 66 victims and Faisalabad at third with 62 road accidents and 75 victims.
As many as 618 motorcycles, 119 rikshaws, 82 cars, 48 vans, 28 trucks and 78 other vehicles were involved in these accidents.
