Why buildings of common people can’t be regularised, asks IHC CJ
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah in his remarks on a case pertaining to regularisation of a plaza in Sawan Garden Society on Thursday said that if the buildings of influential people can be regularised, then why the same cannot be done for the common man.
The IHC chief justice said petitions are being submitted in the court on daily basis in which the petitioners are referring to the recent decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on the matter.
A two-member division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the case. The petitioner argued that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) should also regularise the building in Sawan Garden Society like Banigala and Grand Hyat. The court ordered the government to devise a comprehensive policy on the issue within four weeks and adjourned the hearing.
