Transparent process for health insurance cards for artistes

LAHORE Art Council (LAC) Executive Director Ather Ali Khan gave assurances to the artiste community that the process for issuance of health insurance cards will be completed in a transparent manner. The LAC executive director said that the process of receiving applications for the artist health insurance cards would be completed by March 15, 2019. He said this on Wednesday while chairing a meeting held to review progress of the health insurance cards at Alhamra Arts Council, The Mall. Ather Ali Khan said soon health insurance cards would be delivered to deserving artists in various districts. About the scrutiny process, he expressed satisfaction that the procedure of scrutiny was going on very well under the supervision of a committee and the people like Punjab Arts Council Executive Director Saman Rai, writer and poet Asghar Nadeem Syed, film director Pervaiz Kaleem, PILAC DG Dr Sughra Sadaf, cartoonist Javaid Iqbal, LAC Director Arts and Culture Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, journalist Nasir Naqvi and others are experienced people who have ensured the transparency of the process. The LAC executive director gave assurance that the process of scrutiny of applications for the health insurance cards would be completed in a transparent manner. Ather Ali Khan said the date for submission of applications for health insurance card had been extended by March 15. PFA: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has completed the first phase of ice cream and frozen desserts sampling campaign while the authority has also allowed banned brands to start their production after bringing reforms. PFA Director General Muhammad Usman said PFA had removed the products from the market after failing to meet their products in the laboratory test. As well as, PFA had discarded the raw material during the operation. Meanwhile, PFA has, once again, collected samples of failed brands while results found satisfactory in the second analysis. He said that all available food products were safe for human consumption this time. PFA will inspect ice cream and frozen desserts samples twice a year. PFA will share results of the second phase of sampling campaign with media for the public interest. This was stated by Lahore Board Chairman Prof Ch Muhammad Ismail in a statement. He said the information technology section of the Lahore board has included new features on its website.
