The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has established a new central verification cell at its headquarters in Islamabad.
The cell will verify local and international degrees and certificates on medical and dental education, experience, registration and house job.
PMDC Registrar Dr Shaista Faisal said a senior and qualified officer Syed Masood H Shah had been deputed to look after the verification cell.
“This cell will perform verification process by using all available sources i.e email, fax, mail and respective websites to the benefit for doctors and dentists,” she said.
The registrar said the establishment of the facility would help speed up the degree and certificate verification process.
She said a task force for verification cell had been formed to overcome the pending workload of different PMC sections.
