Three die, one hurt in road accident

Islamabad : Three young people were died, another received serious injuries when a speedy Suzuki pickup rammed into cemented blocks in G-10 near NADRA office in Mauve Area early hours of Saturday.

The dead were in their twenties. The unfortunate accident occurred at around 2:30 a.m. The bang of the crash was so loud that it alerted the people living around and private security guards on duty at the workshops in the market.

People of the surrounding area gather on the scene and helped in shifting the dead bodies and injured to PIMS hospital.

Usman Ali Abbasi, 26, son of Afzal Ali Abbasi, Abdul Shakoor, 25, son of Mohammad Ramzan and Abdul Rehman, 22, son of Mohammad Nasir were among the dead who were died on the spot while Mohammad Zia, 34, son of Raz Mohammad was shifted to the hospital with broken bones, however, the hospital sources termed him stable and out of danger.

Station House Officer (SHO) Ramna Inspector Qaisar Niaz Gilani, when contacted, told this scribe that Usman Ali Abbasi, hailing from Havailian, Abdul Shakoor resident of Depalpur, Okara and Abdul Rehman (Naushehra) and Mohammad Zia resident of Abbotabad were working in National Glass Factory in Industrial Area, adding that they were left the factory after concluding their job for their residence at G-10 on a factory Suzuki pickup bearing registration number TB-039-ICT. Usman Ali was driving the Suzuki while Nasir was sitting on front seat and Abdur Rehman and Abdul Shakoor were on the middle seats and Zia was sitting on the back seat. The officer said that the vehicle rain and crashed into the cement blacks placed on the road.

The SHO said that the police party reached the scene upon receiving information of the accident and pulled out the dead bodies and injured persons from the wreckage of the pickup shifted the victims to the hospital.

The police, later, informed the heirs of the deceased young men after external post mortem and placed the dead bodies in the cold storage of the hospital.
