ISLAMABAD: Appointment of a new secretary and giving final touches to the activity calendar will be on top of the agenda in the Pakistan Football Federation’s Executive Committee meeting in Lahore on March 4.

According to the 20-point agenda of the meeting available with ‘The News’, the PFF — the election of which was held under the Supreme Court’s supervision — will elect a permanent secretary general to run the daily affairs of the federation.

The PFF president has the power to appoint the secretary. However, ‘The News’ has learnt that the new secretary would be appointed in consultation with the executive committee.

The activity calendar for the year 2019 will be given a final shape and the budget for the purpose will also be approved in the meeting.

It is believed that CEO TouchSky Group Ahmer Kunwar, who recently met Prime Minister Imran Khan, will be offered to play a role in football’s promotion in the country.

The PM has given a go ahead to the UK-based sponsors to invest in Pakistan football in coordination with the PFF.

The group is aiming to develop the sport and to strengthen the passion for football by establishing clinics and providing requisite training to create future football stars from Pakistan.

Amongst other points, appointments of coordinators, paid secretaries at provincial and regional levels, auditors, legal firm, marketing commission, committees and signatories for bank accounts is also on the cards.

Procedure to conduct elections at the provincial and district level will also be discussed during the meeting.
