HARARE: Hamilton Masakadza has been retained as the captain of Zimbabwe’s senior men’s cricket team for all three formats of the game with Peter Moor, the wicket-keeper batsman, named as Masakadza’s deputy.

Masakadza led Zimbabwe to a Test victory in Bangladesh and helped team draw the two-match series last year. However, in 20 matches as the one-day international captain, the 35-year-old is yet to register a victory.

The top-order batsman averaged 22.34 with the bat from 26 ODI innings in 2018 and accumulated 581 runs with two half-centuries. In Tests, the right-hander scored 139 runs from four innings in 2018, averaging 34.75 with one half-century.

Moor, the middle-order batsman, scored 321 runs from 16 ODI innings in 2018 with one half-century and accumulated 159 runs from four Test innings last year.
