DSFTOA elects chairman

KARACHI: Shahbaz Anwer was elected chairman of the Deep Sea Fishing Trawler Operators Association (DSFTOA), a statement said.

Other elected office-bearers include Asad Iqbal Gil, senior vice-chairman, Usman Sheikh, vice chairman and Asad Jafri, general secretary.

Anwer urged the government to consider deep sea fishing separate from the affairs of provincial jurisdiction.

“Deep sea fishing in collaboration with foreign partners could bring in much-needed foreign direct investment and increase the export base,” he said.
