PSHL to be delayed further
KARACHI: Pakistan Super Hockey League (PSHL) would be delayed because of 65th senior championship happening next month and shortage of funds with the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), ‘The News’ learnt on Sunday.
Informed sources said that PHF was facing some delay in the sponsorship deals for organising the professional league in an appropriate manner. PHF had planned to organise the PSHL in March or April. The PHF secretary Shahbaz Ahmed did not give the final dates of the event in his last press conference last week.
The PHF has decided to continue the preparation for the professional league but would announce its schedule when all things would be set, especially financial matters. It would organise the national senior championship in March and April, the sources said. They added that the clash of dates of two big events of domestic hockey would not be in the interest of the national game.
