ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has briefed visiting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman about the regional situation including the untoward developments in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) due to the atrocities of Indian forces.
Pakistan has made it absolutely clear that it has got nothing to do with the recent attack in IHK as the Indians are levelling baseless allegations without any evidence. The Afghan issue was also figured in the talks. Well-placed diplomatic sources told The News that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in their delegation-level talks briefed each other about their respective foreign issues.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who was assisted by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua, placed Pakistan’s position pertaining to the Kashmir dispute. The crown prince, who will be leaving for India after visiting Pakistan, was told by the host delegation that Pakistan had been condemning terrorism in any manner. It is for the resolution of the dispute through dialogue and likewise had been urging India to settle Kashmir dispute and other issues with Pakistan by coming on the table. He was told that India is committing worst atrocities against the innocent people of IHK who are aspiring for their birth right to self-determination.
Unfortunately the Indian leadership is trying to externalise its problems for political gains. Pakistan thanked the Saudi leadership for its position and consistent understanding of Pakistan’s standpoint on Kashmir and other issues. The two sides also discussed the Middle East situation and conflicts in the region. Pakistan urged for their settlement through peaceful means, the sources added.
