Haroon grabs gross golf title

Lahore: Mjr Haroon Shafiq won the gross title in the Jazz Business Golf Tournament 2019, a premium amateur golfing tournament of Pakistan, which concluded its second round here at Defence Raya Golf and Country Club on Saturday.

The tournament witnessed participation from amateur golfers, distinguished customers and top management of Jazz. Mjr Haroon won the men’s gross title with a gross score of 74 while Ahsan Hassan secured second position with gross 77 and Farid Malik finished third with gross 78.

In the title race of men’s net category, Waqas Ahmad Rao was winner with net score of 61, while Brg Haroon was second with net 63 and Kamran Iqbal was third with net 67.

The women’s net title was won by Mina Zainab while Ms Rubina was runner-up. The longest drive was hit by Jamal Nasir and Fakhar Imam while closest to pin drive was score by Abid Aziz and Ahmad Nawaz. Shahbaz Akhter, Aqeel Ahmad and Imtiaz Ali won the media category titles.

The Jazz Business Golf Tournament has been of one of the most sought after amateur golf events of Pakistan over the last 7 years. The event is divided into three rounds, with Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad hosting one round each, every year. For the first time since the tournament’s inception, players can now check their live score through a golfing mobile app.

The three station tournament will see more than 400 amateur golfers take part during the entire course of the event.

At the prize distribution ceremony, prize in various categories were distributed amongst the winning

participants, media representatives and outstanding performers.
