Model colleges’ principals asked to spare time for parents

Islamabad: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has directed principals of model colleges to spare at least two to three hours time to deal with parents, who visit the institutes to get updates about admissions and other related matters.
The FDE has directed the heads of the educations institutes, especially model colleges, to treat parents politely and provide them full picture of the number of students already admitted to their respective institutes.
According to the FDE, many parents have lodged complaints against the rude behaviour of principals of model colleges with the CADD Minister Usman Ibrahim, who has taken notice of the issue.
Currently, 20 model colleges are functioning in Islamabad, where over 800,000 students are admitted and parents prefer to get their children admitted to these model colleges for its relatively better facilities and trained teachers.
The rest of the 420 institutes, which are called federal government (FG) schools and colleges, have a negligible number of students, as these institutes lack facilities and trained teachers and parents shy away from admitting their children from these institutions.
