DASKA: Three dacoits Wednesday injured a man in the city area.
The dacoits barged into the house of Shahid and took his family hostage. The dacoits shot at and injured him critically when he put up resistance.
He was shifted to civil hospital in critical condition.
ATTEMPTS SUICIDE: An unemployed youth tried to commit suicide in the Bombanwala police limits.
Arshad was unemployed for the last many years and he used to quarrel with his family members.
On the day of incident, he took poisonous pills and was shifted to civil hospital from where he was referred to Gujranwala in a critical condition.
FIVE GAMBLERS HELD: City police Wednesday arrested five gamblers.
On a tip-off, the police raided a locality on Awami road and arrested Adnon, Arshad, Ifthikar, Mubshar, Shakil and Shaquat and recovered Rs 2,900 stake money from their possession.
FIVE DRUG PEDDLERS HELD: Circle police Wednesday arrested five drug peddlers and recovered narcotics and illegal weapons from them.
The police arrested Gulzar, Sarfraz, Shahbir, Mudssar and Mazhar and recovered 12 bottles of liquor and 450 gram charas from their possession.
SIBLINGS INJURED: A brother and his sister suffered injuries when a speeding van hit them in the Sadar police area.
Saeed and his sister were on the way to their village from Daska, when a speeding van hit them, leaving them injured. They were shifted to civil hospital.
