KARACHI: Intelligence agencies recommended action by the federal government against 63 top bureaucrats of Sindh because of their alleged involvement in land grabbing in Karachi and other matters of corruption, The News has learnt reliably.
According to details, intelligence agencies have recommended action against 63 top bureaucrats in Grade 19, 20 and 21 of Sindh government for their alleged role in land grabbing and other matters of corruption.
Sources said a brief report has been sent to the federal government mentioning allegedly illegal activities of these officers and their association with high-ups of two major political parties of Sindh.
The sources said the report narrated that these officers, some of them recently retired from their jobs, had close associations with high-ups of the ruling party and another main party of Sindh and have illegally allotted precious government lands to front men of leaders of these parties causing huge loss to national exchequer.
The sources said majority of officers belong to different departments of Sindh government and some of them belong to Sindh local government and its sub-ordinate departments – Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and Sindh Building Control Authority.
The sources said some officers of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) have been arrested by Rangers but large-scale action will be taken in a couple of days. They told The News that after the approval of the federal government, matter will be taken in Sindh apex committee for action and matters of the illegal allotment of government land and corruption will be sent to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
