But when a UAE minister reacted to the vote – rather undiplomatically – the government sent envoys to the UAE and Saudi Arabia to pacify them
If we want to be an independent, sovereign country then we should stand firm against all odds. We depend on remittances send by expatriates in the Arab world. There is no doubt about it. But should we hold ourselves hostage to these remittances? Or should we hold our successive rulers accountable for following bad economic policies?
