At least one impersonation case and about 75 unfair means (UFM) incidents have been reported so far during the eight day of ongoing secondary school certificate (SSC) annual examinations.
All the cases were referred to the UFM Committee for further investigation, the Board of Secondary Education Karachi official stated on Wednesday.
BSEK Chairman Faseehuddin Khan and Controller of Examinations Noman Ashan, along with vigilance teams and other officials, visited examination centres in Landhi, Korangi and New Karachi and found around 65 students using unfair means while solving the papers on Wednesday.
The board conducted paper of Mathematics for Class-X (Science Group) in the morning shift and Pakistan Studies (for students unable to clear the paper in the first attempt), General Group (Regular and Private) in afternoon shift.
Meanwhile, the Special Assignment Team had traced out an impersonator busy in solving the paper instead of the original candidate and also caught red-handedly 10 candidates using unfair means at different examination centres.
Protest held
Moreover, the workers of Awami Jamhoori Party (AJP) held a protest demonstration against corruption in Sindh examination boards and cheating in exams outside the press club.
They demanded inquiry against examination boards involved in sale of examination centers where cheating was facilitated.
Addressing the protestors, the AJP leaders said decades-old cheating in exams was unacceptable.
