The decision of the Sindh government to include Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s speech of August 11, 1947 in school curriculum is indeed a great move which other provinces should also follow.
The Quaid in his speech explicitly spoke of giving equal rights and freedom to the religious minorities of Pakistan. In the US and India, every child knows the speeches made by Abraham Lincoln and Jawaharlal Nehru by heart since it is part of their syllabi. The people of Pakistan should know the speech of August 11 as well.

The Sindh government took a remarkable decision to include the Quaid’s August 11, 1947 speech in school curriculum. In fact, there was a dire need to revisit the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam in order to promote tolerance and harmony in our society.
The wave of intolerance and indifferent attitude towards minorities is a threat to the stability of the country. Therefore, only the philosophy of the founding father can change such a mindset. It is time other provinces should also adopt the same policy.
