Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) has announced it will conduct the entry test for 2018-19 session only in Karachi this year.
Earlier, the DUET pre-admission test was conducted simultaneously in four cities -- Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Rawalpindi -- under the National Testing Service (NTS) system. According to the university’s public relation office, the admission process will start in August, while the admission criteria, pre-admission fees and the venue of the test will be announced later by the relevant department.
The decision to conduct the entry test this year only in Karachi was made by DUET Vice-Chancellor Faizullah Abbasi during a meeting of the admission committee on Thursday. The vice chancellor expressed satisfaction over the transparency in the admission process. He directed the committee members to ensure merit-based admissions, saying it was the foremost responsibility of faculties to provide a better academic environment to the students.
