LAHORE: Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has forwarded a panel of three members for selection of one of them as convener of Search Committee for the University of Home Economics, Lahore.
The Higher Education Department (HED), Punjab in February this year, had notified a Search Committee for the University of Home Economics. This was headed by Prof Dr Mira Phailbus, former principal of Kinnaird College as convener while its members included Sajida Haider Vandal, former principal National College of Arts (NCA), Nighat Yawar Ali, director of a private school and Seema Aziz. However, earlier this month, Prof Dr Mira Phailbus had regretted to function as convener of the committee. The PHEC has forwarded a panel of three, after seeking their consent, of which one would be appointed as convener of the Search Committee for the University of Home Economics, Lahore. They include Prof Dr Najma Najam, ex-VC of Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, Prof Dr Shahida Hasnain, former VC, Women University Multan and Prof Dr Munawar S Mirza, former VC, University of Education, Lahore.
