LAHORE: A 24-year-old youth was killed by a speeding tractor-trolley in Nishtar Colony Sunday.
The victim identified as Asad Iqbal was standing on a roadside when a rashly driven tractor-trolley hit him to death. The deceased belonged to Kasur and worked in a local factory. Body was shifted to the morgue.
Fire breaks out at furniture market: Furniture worth millions of rupees was reduced to ashes when fire broke out in a furniture market on Ferozepur Road Sunday. Over a dozen shops scorched in the fire which engulfed the furniture market in the morning. Cause of fire or any foul play was yet to be ascertained. Upon being informed, the fire-fighters rushed to the spot and extinguished fire after hectic efforts. Many shop owners were seen crying when they saw their goods being gutted. Some shopkeepers alleged that somebody had deliberately set fire to the market. They informed that same kind of an incident had occurred here almost four years ago. They demanded immediate probe into the fire incident.
