Many precious lives were lost recently when a group of tourists on the excursion visit to the Neelam Valley fell off a suspension bridge. While a few managed to save themselves, some were rescued by onlookers. The rest, unfortunately, were swept away by the raging river. Amid these victims was a 12-year-old hero called Saim, the son of a local, who sacrificed his life while saving two people. Surely, this spontaneous act of bravery deserves to be recognised. In this regard, the authorities should consider giving financial support to his parents.
