DCs check commodities’ quality, availability at Ramazan Bazaars

FAISALABAD: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Salman Ghani and CPO Athar Ismail Thursday visited various Ramazan Bazaars in the city and checked quality, availability of commodities and other administrative measures.

The DC and CPO also observed the process of sale of flour and sugar at subsidized rates. They directed the staff to maintain discipline at stalls. They also interacted with consumers and inquired about the quality of essential commodities and assured them that the graded quality of fruit, vegetables, pulses and other items would be ensured in Ramazan Bazaars.

Talking to reporters, the DC said apples, bananas, dates, lemons, gram powder and gram pulse were being sold on market committee stalls on subsidized prices. Later, the DC and the CPO visited the control room of Ramazan Bazaars and observed the monitoring process through CCTV cameras and checked the performance of medical camp, complaint center and weight and measure counters. The DC directed the staff to perform their duties with full commitment. The CPO directed the policemen to follow the security plan of Ramazan Bazaars in letter and spirit.

LALAMUSA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Ali Rindhawa along with District Police Officer (DPO) Jehanzeb Nazir Khan Thursday observed the auction process at vegetables and fruit markets to maintain prices.

The DC and DPO visited vegetables and fruit markets of Ramazan Bazaars at Zahoor Elahi Stadium, Shah Jehangir Road, Railway Road, Kunjah and Jalalpur Jattan. Assistant Commissioner Kharian Awais Manzoor supervised auction process at vegetables and fruit market of Mandi Kharian.

The AC Sara-e-Alamgir supervised auction process at vegetables and fruit market at Mandi Sara-e-Alamgir. The DC said the purpose of monitoring the auction process was to make the process transparent and people-friendly and it would continue even after Ramazan.

Talking to reporters, the DC said ten Ramazan bazaars had been established in Gujrat where subsidised flour and other items were available for people. The DPO said visitors of Ramazan bazaars would be provided a secure atmosphere.

HAFIZABAD: The deputy commissioner (DC) Thursday urged traders to facilitate consumers in terms of reducing prices of daily use item during Ramazan.

The DC said traders and shopkeepers should take reasonable profit from selling their commodities to consumers at Ramazan Bazaars established at Hafizabad, Sukheke, Jalalpur Bhattian and Pindi Bhattian. A scores of consumers bought daily use items from the bazaars. The DC thanked the cooperation of the traders for reducing commodities prices.

Meanwhile, the District Price Control Committee had fixed reduced prices of almost all essential commodities. Police force has been deputed near Ramazan Bazaars. The DPO office asked the cops to implement Ehtaram-e-Ramazan Ordinance and take action against violators.
