The entry of veteran politicians into the PTI shows that these so-called sensible and experienced politicians have nothing to do with the ideology, manifesto or vision of their political struggle. They are the worshippers of the rising sun. In Layyah and its surrounding districts – including Bhakkar, Mianwali and D G Khan – around 80 percent of such old political stuntmen have changed their loyalties from the PML-N or the PPP to the PTI.
It is a matter of great sorrow to see those politicians who use to select one party and remain with them are now joining the PTI, hoping to enjoy the political power for the next five years. While I wish them best of luck, I would definitely like to advise Imran Khan to keep such politicians at arm’s length because they would be nowhere in sight when the PTI faces difficult times.
